We typically invest between £1m to £3m in disruptive pre- and post-revenue hardware and industrial software businesses with technologies. We look for companies with a strong and ambitious management team and at least a £100m total addressable market (TAM).

Companies partnering with us benefit from two award-winning teams, each with decades of hands-on experience in their fields.

The hard-tech commercial experience of Foresight’s investment team, combined with the depth of engineering expertise and access to facilities and WAE networks ensures that the value for portfolio companies extends well beyond the capital that is provided.

We look for:  

• Early-stage companies where WAE’s technology, engineering, commercial or promotional added value support may offer a distinct advantage
• Innovative technology; we seek businesses that have developed market-leading and/or innovative technologies that have clear commercial advantage to the end customer
• A road map to commercialisation: We seek companies which have a clear map to commercialisation, in less than 24 months from the point of initial investment
• We ask that companies have a global addressable market size of £100 million per year
• We target businesses who have the potential to deliver x10 multiples at exit; high risk, high growth potential
• We work with and build experienced teams with a track record of success in the sectors and markets in which they operate

Post investment

Our input doesn’t stop at investment. Our investee companies have access to a partnerships manager who works with WAE and the company to facilitate projects, testing, R&D and consultancy. The team at Foresight will play an active role in the leadership of the business, guiding companies on their route to commercialisation.
